Did you know that Dr. Nikki Magie recently completed a one-year sabbatical during which she researched and traveled in the U.S., Latin America and Europe?

Dr. Magie is a world historian who places an emphasis on Latin America, migration and experiential learning. She typically attends and presents at 2-3 conferences annually. Last year she presented at the World History Association (WHA) conference in Bilbao, Spain as well as the Midwest World History Association (MWWHA) and Great Lakes History joint conference at GVSU. She is next presenting two papers at the WHA conference in Pittsburgh this coming summer. Nikki has consulted and written curriculum for World History Project, a free OER curriculum that is funded by Bill Gates’ BG3 company and connected to the popular educational resource of Khan Academy. She is on the Advisory Board for World History Commons, is Vice President of the Midwest WHA, and serves on the WHA’s Executive Council.
