The University of Olivet welcomes all types of transfer students, and prides itself on the flexibility to meet a wide range of students’ needs. Whether you are seeking a four-year degree after attending community college, are a student-veteran exploring educational opportunities, have decided to complete your degree a few months to a few decades after originally beginning, or are in another special circumstance, The University of Olivet is excited to help you create a successful future and seamlessly transition to college. There is still time to transfer and begin classes this fall – scholarship opportunities and much more make The University of Olivet the perfect fit.
Individualized Attention and Transfer Flexibility
The University of Olivet upholds a diverse and inclusive campus community, and welcomes students of all backgrounds – including transfer students who may not fall into the same categories as traditional college students. The college recognizes that because transfer students have had a different college journey, they also have different needs. Individualized attention from a transfer specialist who focuses on meeting those needs is just one of the ways OC ensures transfer students have the tools they need to succeed. Each transfer student will meet with Andrea Terry, director of admissions, to identify their goals and plan their transition to The University of Olivet.
“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to assist transfer students in their next steps toward earning a college degree,” Andrea said. “I understand these students have unique stories and therefore, unique wants and needs. No two students ever follow the same path through transferring, but each receives individualized attention to ensure they have a positive experience at The University of Olivet and leave with a degree in hand.”
Maximum Number of Credits Transferred
In addition, credits that may not transfer at other colleges and universities could transfer to The University of Olivet. Rather than taking a standardized approach to identifying which credits are accepted, students will meet with a faculty adviser in their chosen program to review and compare credits earned with course offerings at OC. Each class is reviewed individually, allowing transfer students to enter the new leg of their college journey without losing their previous progress.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
Further, scholarship opportunities and financial aid are available to transfer students, and every student is guaranteed a form of assistance. These rewards will be based on the highest GPA from previously attended institutions, regardless of if that institution was a college/university or high school. The University of Olivet offers a wide range of grants and scholarships, including many based on academic performance, talent, veteran status and more.
“Transferring to a new school or returning to college can be a difficult decision, but The University of Olivet’s specialized approach to meeting transfer students’ needs allows them to reach their goals as quickly as possible,” Andrea explained. “I encourage students to apply and visit campus. Its is free to apply, and students will be able to begin exploring their potential at The University of Olivet right away.”
