Ryan Shockey serves as vice president and chief of staff at The University of Olivet. In this role, Shockey helps advance the president’s college-wide agenda, assisting on major initiatives and overseeing administrative and operational activities. Shockey is a member of the President’s Executive Council and President’s Cabinet, and he is the chief liaison to the Board of Trustees. In addition, Shockey is the College’s chief pandemic response officer.
Shockey joined The University of Olivet as the head athletic trainer in 2013 after working in athletic training at an NCAA Division III university in Indiana. In 2016, he became the The University of Olivet athletic director, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the 22 Division III varsity sports teams and three club sports. While Shockey was in this role, significant facility upgrades were implemented at the Cutler Athletic Complex, and athletic programs were enhanced to include men’s bowling, cheer and STUNT, and outdoor recreation and competitive clay target.
Shockey earned a Master of Business Administration from the Indiana Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts from Anderson University. Shockey, originally from Indiana, currently resides in Marshall with his wife, Katherine, and three daughters, Isabel, Maeve and Emerie.
