Dr. Robin Luckadoo Chadderdon is the director of Counseling, Health, and Wellness at The University of Olivet. Robin has held this position for nearly four years. In this role, Robin is responsible for leading and managing the university’s student health and wellness center and its associated services. She oversees the work of four contracted licensed mental health therapists, a Prevention Counselor, and other health and wellness services by working with local partners, faculty, staff, and various student groups.
Robin previously worked with the Michigan Department of Human Services in child welfare for 12 years, focusing on support services for older youth and relative placements. Because of her outstanding work in improving the safety of relative placements, she received a leadership award from the Business Service Center Director. Her background also includes time as an assistant deputy warden for the Michigan Department of Corrections. She has served on diversity, equity, and inclusion teams for both departments for over 15 years, working to identify and address discrimination and workplace harassment. Additionally, Robin was an adjunct professor at Kellogg Community College and the owner and director of La Petite Montessori Learning Center.
Robin holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Michigan State University, a master’s degree in counseling from Spring Arbor University, and a doctoral degree in human services with a focus on leadership and organizational management from Capella University. She also has an early childhood certification from the Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute.
Robin’s ultimate goal is to help students thrive and succeed in reaching their short-term and long-term goals by working with each student to improve or maintain wellness and through collaboration with the faculty, staff, and community partners at The University of Olivet.
