Before joining Olivet in 2025, Coach Nito Ramos was the head men’s and women’s golf coach at Siena Heights University (SHU).

A 1995 graduate with a degree in elementary education from SHU, Ramos retired in 2025 after 30 years as an educator in Lenawee County. He started his teaching career as a third-grade teacher at Adrian Public Schools from 1995-98. Ramos then spent the next 27 years in the Clinton Community Schools (CCS) from 1999-2025, serving 23 years as a fifth-grade teacher and the final four years as part of the Project Lead The Way department. While part of the CCS, he was the head coach for various athletic teams, including middle school football and boys’ basketball, junior varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball, softball and baseball, and varsity girls’ basketball.

Most recently, Ramos served as the boys’ varsity golf coach for nine years (2016-24) and varsity girls’ golf coach for four years (2021-24). As the boys’ coach, he led Clinton to four straight trips to the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) team finals and won five league titles. Ramos began the girls’ golf program, and the team made two straight trips to the MHSAA team finals and captured two league titles. He was named the regional coach of the year four times, twice for girls’ golf, once for boys’ golf and once for girls’ basketball.

A native of Marshall, Ramos currently lives in Adrian. He and his wife, Leanne, have a son, Garrett, and two daughters, Breanna and Kyleigh, current students at Olivet.
