Dr. Kordilia Noble joined The University of Olivet as the director of career development in 2023. Dr. Noble has over 25 years of experience in higher education and workforce development, supporting students and cultivating strategic business partnerships. As a vital member of the Student Development team, Dr. Noble is responsible for educating and supporting Olivet students on all aspects of career development, such as leadership, cover letter, resume, proper interviewing techniques, professional dress, networking tips and collaborating with the community to host career fairs providing employment and internship opportunities for Olivet students. Her vision is to support all Olivet students to help them become career-ready.

Dr. Noble possesses a wealth of knowledge developed through extensive private- and public-sector work in law and human service positions. Additionally, before Dr. Noble’s service at Olivet, she held leadership positions at various higher education institutions, including public and private universities, community colleges, and K-12 school systems.

Dr. Noble believes in the “Student-Centered” philosophy and focuses on the whole student to ensure that students are successful. Dr. Noble states that her passion for higher education and supporting students is her calling in life, and she is excited to be a part of The University of Olivet family.

As a member and graduate of Leadership Muskegon, the Southern Wayne Regional Chamber Leadership 21 and Oakland County’s Cornerstone Leadership Program, Dr. Noble is a strong leader who realizes that leadership is about empathy. It is about relating to and connecting with individuals to inspire and empower them. As a first-generation college graduate and woman of color, Dr. Noble takes great pride in serving students.

Further, as the author of A Study of Leadership Development, Self-Efficacy and Career Readiness among African American/Black Women, which is about leadership development and mentorship, Dr. Noble loves giving back to the community in ways that will make a positive impact. Dr. Noble is a National Association of Professional Women member and sits on the Board of CDJ and Associates, a business management firm. She holds a Doctor of Education degree in leadership and management from St. Thomas University, Miami, Florida. In her free time, Dr. Noble likes to cook pescatarian meals, travel and spend time with family.
