Dr. Elizabeth Trueblood (she/her) has been an Assistant Professor of Writing at The University of Olivet since 2023, serving as the director of the UO writing program and writing center since 2025. She teaches composition and creative writing courses and is also the advisor of Olivet’s literary journal, The Garfield Lake Review.

Dr. Trueblood received her BA in English from Northern Michigan University in 2017 and went on to earn her MFA in Creative Writing (fiction) from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 2020. Her journey as a student (at least for now!) concluded in August 2023, when she earned her PhD (Creative Writing, fiction) from the University of Southern Mississippi.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Trueblood writes and publishes creatively; her short stories have previously appeared in Apricity Magazine, The Thieving Magpie, and Typehouse Literary Magazine, among others, and she was a finalist for the Beloit Fiction Journal’s Hamlin Garland Award for the Short Story in 2021. Her creative and critical interests include speculative fiction, feminism, and Victorian and Gothic literature.
