Channon N. Washington, Ed.D., serves as an assistant professor and director of the master of education program at The University of Olivet. She brings more than 20 years of experience as a secondary educator, curriculum specialist and advocate for educational equity. Dr. Washington is dedicated to mentoring and empowering current and future educators through inclusive, culturally responsive, and research-informed teaching practices.

Her research explores how educators can build more inclusive and respectful classroom environments, support student growth through positive behavior strategies, and apply data-driven school improvement practices that meet the needs of all learners.

Dr. Washington holds a Doctor of Education from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University, and two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Western Michigan University—one in history with a minor in social studies and another in dance.
