“I grew up in a pretty small town, so I enjoyed that same feeling from the first time I visited Olivet. I loved how much of a family feel it had. The professors here are all so very friendly and are always willing to help you out. I never feel like just a number here; it feels like home.
Relationships are such a valuable part of the college experience. Making friends and forming connections with people across campus are  so important. Olivet is truly like a family; the professors care about your success and are always there to help. My number one piece of advice to a high school student is to not be afraid to put yourself out there and be active on campus. Being involved will help you build relationships with people that could last a lifetime.
When I was a senior in high school, I was a part of the Eaton RESA insurance and risk management course that partnered with Olivet. Through this amazing opportunity, I was able to earn nine college credits at Olivet. Along with these and my AP credits, I will be able to graduate a semester early while double majoring.
I choose insurance and risk management (IRM) because of how wonderful the program is here at Olivet. The advisers go above and beyond to assist students. One way the faculty helps the IRM students is by pushing them to pursue internships. Internships are such an amazing way to prepare you for your future career by letting you test out different areas of your field. I recently interned with Auto-Owners Insurance in their underwriting education and training department. This has given me many hands-on experiences in the insurance industry that I am so grateful for.
I have such a good connection with my professors here. Any and all of the faculty members at Olivet are always willing to work with you and help you through situations. My professors are very supportive of my carrier goals by helping me find internships, write me letters of recommendation and help me find scholarships.
Attending Olivet has shaped who I am as a person by showing me the true value of relationships. From a future career standpoint and also on a personal level. I have made friendships with people here at Olivet that will last forever.”
