  • Earn while you learn: Begin teaching with pay once you complete initial training. You can build practical classroom experience as you pursue your education. Note that employment opportunities are not guaranteed.
  • Comprehensive preparation: Access more than 365 hours of educator training covering classroom management, instructional strategies and student engagement techniques developed by leading educational researchers.

How to Become a Teacher in Nevada Through Our Program

The state offers multiple pathways for teacher certification, and our program follows an alternative route that often works best for non-traditional students. You’ll complete teaching certification requirements while earning your Bachelor’s degree online.

The process begins with enrollment. After completing classroom readiness training, you receive a Letter of Eligibility that allows you to apply for an ARL license through the state’s OPAL system. With this license, you can accept teaching positions and earn your standard certification while building classroom experience.

Our faculty assists you at every stage, from coursework to final certification requirements. You’ll learn evidence-based teaching methods and receive mentorship from educators who’ve worked in K-12 settings previously.
