How to Become a Teacher With an Interim Teaching Certificate

Our teaching pathway provides another way to certification. During the program, you major in Integrative Studies, with the option to choose an area of interest.

Once you complete the program, you receive your bachelor’s degree and an Interim Teaching Certificate (ITC). With this certificate, you can jump into the classroom, work full-time and earn a salary. To progress from the ITC to a standard certificate, you will complete the requirements of the #TEACH program, including assessments and an application for certification.

With the ITC, you can start teaching sooner and continue learning and growing your skills over time.

In the 2023-2024 school year, 156 out of nearly 900 districts reported permanent vacancies. Vacancies were most common in remote areas and cities the following fall, with openings available across many subject areas and grade levels.
