About the Program

The media production and communication program is designed to prepare students for a wide variety of careers in the media and communications-related industries. Through hands-on experiences in a variety of media, like shooting video and photo, writing and reporting, broadcasting and more, the student develops strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills that contribute to success in any career.

Careers

  • Social Media Manager

    Social media managers create and maintain brand promotions, company information and marketing campaigns for their company across different social media networks. They control the brand voice, manage analytics and interact with a company’s audience.

  • Production Assistant

    A production assistant works on television, movie or theater sets to support the producer or director. They get the cast, crew and set ready for each day's shoot and help communicate instructions from the director to the cast and crew.

  • Journalist

    Journalists gather information, write news pieces, and present the news in an honest and balanced manner. They investigate and report on current events and work on articles and features that update and influence public opinion.

  • Public Relations Specialist

    Public relations specialists create and maintain a favorable public image for the organization they represent. They craft media releases and develop social media programs to shape public perception of their organization and increase awareness of its work and goals.
