Our history major offers a variety of courses designed to provide you with an understanding of historical and political processes. You’ll study a variety of fields and be introduced to advanced research, writing and social science research methods. A major in history provides excellent preparation for law school, government work, foreign service and various service industries and institutions.
The Hosford History Center and Lawrence Archives was renovated from a 170-year-old building into a cutting-edge museum and archive with offices, meeting rooms, student workspaces, and a café where history majors can begin working their first year.
As a history and learning center, the space is a hub of activity with a steady flow of students and visitors participating in tours, research and events that all illuminate Olivet’s unique and socially progressive history.
