The University of Olivet will host 40 instrumental music students from across southern Michigan for the The University of Olivet High School Honor Band Saturday, April 5, on campus (320 S. Main St., Olivet, MI 49076).
Students from 17 different high schools will come together into one ensemble and spend the day working on new literature in full rehearsal, as well as in a sectional with The University of Olivet music faculty and other professional musicians from across the state.
The students’ hard work will pay off and be displayed to the public in a free concert Saturday evening, at 7:30 p.m. at the Olivet Congregational Church. The University of Olivet Wind Ensemble will open the concert for these very talented high school students.
Participating high schools include: Bellevue, Charlotte, Clawson, East Detroit, Harper Creek, Jackson, L’Anse Creuse – North, Lakewood, Mason, Milford, Monroe, Olivet, Onstead, Roseville, Summit Academy, Warren Cousino and Williamston.
