The 2015 Business Insurance directory of risk management and insurance schools lists the nation’s top colleges for those interested in risk management and insurance careers. The University of Olivet is ranked number 11 on that list, based on the number of undergraduate students enrolled in the program. In addition, Olivet offers the most risk management and insurance courses on the list, with 25 undergraduate classes available.
“We are pleased to be recognized as one of the premier risk management and insurance programs in the U.S.,” said Tom Humphreys, director of the risk management and insurance program at Olivet. “Our program offers more than double the course offerings of others, with content and instruction that provides our students a significant competitive advantage.”
With 25 percent of the workforce set to reach retirement age by 2018, the risk management and insurance industries are stepping up recruiting efforts. The University of Olivet is helping to fill that void by graduating young professionals ready to take on careers in the insurance industry.
“We look forward to growing our enrollment and showing The University of Olivet students a path to a fulfilling and engaging career in the insurance field,” Humphreys said.
To ensure Olivet’s RMI graduates are well-rounded in business, technology and the liberal arts, rigorous requirements are set forth by the department. Internships are mandatory for RMI students to graduate – most complete more than one. The curriculum is also demanding, designed by faculty who have worked or continue to work in the industry. This guarantees students are provided with a strong educational foundation of the industry’s operations as well as application-based experiences. As a result, Olivet boasts a 100 percent job placement rate for graduates of this program.
In addition to its undergraduate program, The University of Olivet offers an online Master of Business Administration in Insurance for professionals all over the globe. Through the graduate program, students learn from expert faculty who serve as executives in the industry, and are given the opportunity to network with colleagues and classmates worldwide.
