The University of Olivet names student media leaders

New leaders of student media for 2014-15 have been announced by the The University of Olivet Media Board.
Mitch Galloway, a sophomore from Coldwater, will continue as editor of the The University of Olivet Echo newspaper. Galloway, a journalism and mass communication major, is also a freelance writer for the Battle Creek Enquirer and writes for the Office of College Relations at The University of Olivet.
Junior Hayley Drummond has been named editor of the Garfield Lake Review, the annual literary magazine of the college. Drummond, from Williamston, is also a journalism and mass communication major and works for the Office of College Relations. She was a member of the Garfield staff this semester.
Travis Oberlin, a sophomore from Marshall, is the student manager of WOCR-89.1 FM, the college’s radio station. A journalism and mass communication major, Oberlin has been the voice of WOCR sports this past semester, broadcasting football and basketball games, in addition to other duties.
The Echo publishes every week during the academic semester. WOCR is on the air when classes are in session and streams live. The Garfield Lake Review is available, free for single copies, from journalism and humanities faculty members.
