The University of Olivet is hosting its 18th annual Employers’ Fair, Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cutler Event Center. The event is coordinated by Gamma Iota Sigma and supported by the college’s Career Services Network. Gamma Iota Sigma is Olivet’s award-winning insurance, risk management and actuarial science student organization.
Nearly 40 organizations have already registered to meet prospective employees, including: Accident Fund Holdings, Acuity Insurance, Amerisure Mutual Insurance, Arlington Roe, Auto-Owners Insurance Company, Brotherhood Mutual, CCMSI, Crosby Henry Agency, Detroit Police Department, Diebold Insurance, Eaton County Parks Department, Eaton County Sheriff’s Department, EMC Insurance, Farmers Insurance, Frankenmuth Insurance, General Agency Company, Gibson Insurance Agency, Hastings Mutual Insurance Company, Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, JM Wilson, Kaufman Financial Group, KP Insurance Agency (Allstate), Lyman and Sheets Insurance Agency, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Michigan Department of Corrections, Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies, Michigan Insurance Company, Michigan State Police Department – Forensic Department, Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, Northwestern Mutual, Pioneer State Mutual Insurance Companies, Saginaw Bay Insurance Agency, State Farm Insurance, U.S Customs and Border Protection, USA Army, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Westfield Insurance.
The purpose of the The University of Olivet Employers’ Fair is to introduce employers to the College’s students, who represent a wide variety of academic disciplines, from the social sciences to insurance and risk management. Past fairs have resulted in a number of jobs and internships for students, and many of the participating organizations have been attending for years.
