A recent announcement shared that Samantha Pearl ’00, director of alumni engagement, will be leaving the College this spring. Samantha will continue to work full time through the first week of April to support the Office of Advancement and the College during the transition.
“The College was founded to ensure an education is available to everyone, and to teach its students to do good to others,” Samantha said. “It’s a mission I’m deeply passionate about, and it has been a great privilege and a source of personal satisfaction and joy to work alongside fellow alumni, faculty and staff in service to that mission. The connections we create and nurture with one another enrich our lives and are a powerful force for good. While it’s difficult to leave this role, I’m thankful that those connections will also allow me to remain forever connected to Olivet.”
Samantha’s husband, Jim, has been called to serve as a pastor at a church in St. Johns. Together, they have chosen to commit to the mission of the church and its community full time.
“It has been a privilege to work with Samantha these past few years,” said The University of Olivet President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D. “Her sense of vision, purpose, passion, tenacity and leadership have taken alumni engagement to remarkable new heights. She has worked tirelessly to strengthen the connection with our alumni base, including the revitalization of an engaged and enthusiastic alumni board. Samantha’s love for The University of Olivet will be missed; however, I admire her and Jim’s commitment to their new church and its members — what an incredible gift they will be to the entire St. Johns community. I believe without a doubt that, like The University of Olivet, Samantha will continue to live the mission of Individual and Social Responsibility.”
