The University of Olivet is proud to announce three new scholarship opportunities starting in the spring 2016 semester. The University of Olivet Talent Scholarship, Veterans Scholarship and Employee Family Scholarship will be available to students beginning Jan. 1.
“The University of Olivet is pleased to offer these new opportunities to our students,” said Jackie Looser, vice president of finance and administration. “The college is highly invested in those who contribute their talents and service to the campus and their communities in numerous ways, and these scholarships are just one example of how we can reward those individuals.”
The University of Olivet Talent Scholarship, worth up to the full cost of tuition, fees, room and board, awards students who enrich the campus community through their involvement in talent-based participation opportunities. The amount of the scholarship varies based on financial need. Talent Scholarships are available for the following activities: gospel choir, marching band, music (other than marching band), and non-NCAA DIII collegiate sports including boxing, cheer and bowling.
The University of Olivet Veterans Scholarship is equal to 50 percent of tuition costs and is available to veterans with qualifying days of active duty service; active duty military; and current members of the National Guard or any branch of the U.S. military reserve who qualify for VA benefits and/or military education assistance. Spouses and legal dependents who provide proof of eligibility qualify for the scholarship, as well.
The University of Olivet Employee Family Scholarship extends beyond dependents to aid the grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, step-nieces and step-nephews of current The University of Olivet employees who are seeking to work toward a degree at The University of Olivet.
