Celebrating National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week kicks off today with National Nurses Day. All of us at The University of Olivet express our appreciation for the dedication, compassion and invaluable contributions of these healthcare professionals. Under this year’s National Nurses Week theme, “Nurses Make a Difference,” we recognize the profound impact selfless nurses have on the lives of patients, families and communities every day through their comfort, support and advocacy.

The University of Olivet recognizes the burden nurses face in healthcare today, including the shortage of nurses and the opportunity for current registered nurses to return to college to earn a bachelor’s degree. In support of nurses, in March, The University of Olivet announced a scholarship program to cover up to 100% of tuition costs for qualified students enrolling in the institution’s online RN to BSN program. Qualified students benefit from a combination of donor-funded scholarships, federal financial aid and currently existing State of Michigan financial aid, including the Michigan Tuition Grant.

“Our University was established on the ‘divine art and science of doing good to others.’ No other profession demonstrates this principle more than nursing. This scholarship is our way of saying thank you to those nurses who dedicate themselves to this career,” said President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D.

On National Nurses Day and throughout National Nurses Week, The University of Olivet extends its deepest gratitude to all nurses. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to serving our communities.
