The University of Olivet’s Women’s Leadership Institute and Cultivating Women Leaders events would not be possible without the generous support of advisers and sponsors, including M3 Group and president and CEO Tiffany Dowling. The Lansing-based public relations and marketing agency values female leadership, and has served as presenting sponsor two years in a row. In addition, Dowling is a member of the Women’s Leadership Institute Advisory Council and will lead an interactive session on professional communication skills at Cultivating Women Leaders: Pioneering the Future on March 2.
“The University of Olivet is blessed to have strategic partners like M3 Group,” said The University of Olivet vice president of admissions and marketing Tim Johnston. “Once again, they have delivered on leading the college’s efforts in promoting the Cultivating Women Leaders event throughout the state, resulting in record participation.”
Founded in 2002, M3 Group has been providing marketing, public relations, corporate consulting and advertising services for 16 years. M3 Group strives to provide a relationships-based experience to clients, creating one cohesive team working toward the same goal.

At the agency’s helm as president and CEO is Tiffany Dowling. Dowling has managed public and private accounts of varying sizes for more than 19 years. She worked on public relations efforts for Lansing-based biotech organization Neogen Corporation before becoming a public relations director at Starr Commonwealth, a nonprofit organization. Prior to starting M3 Group, Dowling was appointed by Gov. John Engler as the marketing and public relations director for the Michigan Department of Career Development.
Strong female leadership is present on M3 Group’s team, a value included in the agency’s mission, driving Dowling’s involvement with the The University of Olivet Women’s Leadership Institute (WLI) Advisory Council. The council serves as the governing and guiding board alongside presidential spouse and WLI director Traci Corey, comprised of strong female leaders throughout the state. In 2017, WLI launched an extremely successful inaugural Cultivating Women Leaders (CWL) event, followed by the second annual event under the theme Pioneering the Future on March 2. M3 Group helped strategize the CWL communication plan, including the op-ed pieces for print media, media interviews featuring Corey and other event presenters, and offered advice on communication best practices.

“I’ve been impressed with Olivet’s commitment to women’s leadership. For them, it isn’t a passing fade. It’s a legacy that they uphold through their current practices,” said Dowling. “I want to do my part to see it continue into the future. Young women need to have the tools necessary to become leaders for the next generation. I believe it’s our responsibility to provide those tools and become mentors.”
M3 Group also owns, publishes and produces three local magazines: Greater Lansing Business Monthly, Capital Area Women’s LifeStyle Magazine and ing Magazine.
