Olivet Direct! gives qualified Grass Lake Community Schools seniors direct admission to the university.

Grass Lake Community Schools students will now be automatically admitted to The University of Olivet, thanks to Olivet Direct!, a program that makes the admissions process faster and easier for qualified students. President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D., and Grass Lake Community Schools Superintendent Nicholas Angel, Ed.D., signed the Olivet Direct! agreement recently at Grass Lake High School.

The University of Olivet launched the Olivet Direct! Program in 2022 and partners with 24 school districts, community colleges and organizations. Direct admission allows high-achieving students to lock in their acceptance without requiring them to go through the traditional admissions process.

“The University of Olivet is excited to welcome Grass Lake Community Schools as our newest Olivet Direct! school. Thanks to this partnership, more Grass Lake graduates will be able to attend The University of Olivet, benefit from our generous financial awards structure, and have a deeply immersive relationship-based education,” said Corey. “Students can avoid the lengthy and often confusing admissions process and focus on successfully finishing their senior year.”

Further, Grass Lake Community Schools high school students may qualify for The University of Olivet ADVANTAGE Scholarship, which will cover the full cost of published tuition and general fees after all federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships are applied. To qualify for no-cost tuition, seniors must be eligible for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, be Pell-eligible and have been a Michigan resident for at least one year. The Olivet ADVANTAGE Scholarship aims to guarantee students, especially first-generation students and those from low-to-moderate-income families throughout Michigan, a quality, relationship-based college experience.

“I am excited that our Grass Lake Community Schools students will benefit from an enhanced and expedited admission process and scholarship considerations only available to partner schools. Our students work hard in the classroom and Olivet is an attractive option for students pursuing post-secondary experiences at a quality institution,” said Angel.
