Welcome to The University of Olivet

OC Nation couldn’t be more excited that you chose to become a Comet! New Student Orientation is just one of the tools we’ve developed to help make your transition to college go smoothly. Before you move onto campus this fall — Move-In Day is Friday, August 16 — all new students participate in Orientation, which includes opportunities to:

  • Meet new friends, current students, professors and other members of the OC family.
  • Explore campus through interactive games.
  • Attend a financial aid counseling session.
  • Check out student housing options.
  • Schedule meetings with coaches, musical ensemble directors and academic advisers.
  • Enjoy yourself while having all your questions answered.

Prep for Orientation

If you haven’t done so already, register for an Orientation day that works for you! Upcoming dates include May 23, June 11, June 28, July 11, July 18 and Aug. 9. Parents or guardians are encouraged to attend and are offered sessions specific to their needs. Learn more about orientation, including the day’s schedule and FAQs. Most importantly, prepare any questions you may have.

Attend Orientation

Faculty and staff have dedicated their day to making yours truly special, and that never ends. During your entire student experience at Olivet, we’ll make sure to show you that you can always count on us. During check-in, you’ll be able to schedule meetings, finalize financial aid details and customize your orientation experience to meet your needs. Whether you need some extra help in the academic advising area, want to learn more about the variety of athletic teams offered, or both, we’ll make it happen.

“We are excited to welcome all of our OC Comets to campus for our New Student Orientations this summer,” said Jared Stratz, associate director of admissions and New Student Orientation coordinator. “This is a great opportunity for students to create lifelong friendships, connect with professors, coaches and staff members, and to celebrate the very reasons why they made their choice to join the OC family in the first place. Relationship building is vital to the student experience at The University of Olivet, and Orientation is focused on creating these bonds for our new students and their families.”

Other Need-to-Knows

Lunch is on us in the Kirk Center, the dining hall on campus. In addition, breakfast will be served during the welcome session, and an ice cream social will end the day. You’ll also get to hear from The University of Olivet President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D. — just one of the many times you’ll interact with him during your student experience.

After Orientation

Kick back and enjoy the rest of your summer! If you still need help deciding on a major, check out all of OC’s program. Have questions about roommates or room assignments?
