What brought you to OC?
I came to OC because I was looking for an opportunity to take on a leadership role in an athletic department. I wanted to expand my skills and knowledge base and enhance my leadership skills.
Why do you love OC?
I love OC because of the close-knit family atmosphere that you feel the second you walk on to campus. Everyone knows everyone and you feel right at home the first day you are here.
Where does your passion for working in higher education and athletics stem from?
I have a passion for higher education and college athletics because of the opportunities they both provide young adults. Being able to participate in athletics creates a unique experience for student-athletes from all walks of life. It creates relationships and connections that the students will carry with them for the rest of their lives. At OC, this experience is unique in its own respect because the student-athletes are not only a part of a team, but are a part of a larger family within the entire athletic department.
What’s the average day in your role, or some of the unique things you are responsible for?
An average day in my role consists of managing our facilities and transportation within the athletic department. Every day is unique and there is always something new happening. I enjoy this aspect of my job because it allows me to be creative and overcome challenges daily. There are no two days that look the same when you work in college athletics.
Why do you encourage students to attend OC?
I encourage students to attend OC because of the family atmosphere that OC provides its students. When you step onto OC’s campus you are not just another number or person in a seat, you are a valued and important member of the OC family.
What do you look forward to in your role?
I am looking forward to all of our home athletic events this winter and spring.
What is an interesting or little-known fact about yourself?
An interesting fact about me is that I am involved in Taekwondo and am hoping to one day get my black belt.
