Her own positive experiences as a student and strong connections to faculty and staff motivated her to return to the college with a goal to help other students succeed. She has a strong passion for event planning because it allows her to connect with diverse audiences and help others reach their goals. Why do you love OC?

I love The University of Olivet because of the sense of community on campus.

What is your favorite memory from your time at OC?

My favorite memory from my time at The University of Olivet is a tie between the day I graduated and the first day I returned as an employee. Both days I felt an overwhelming sense of pride.

What is your mentoring style like?

I usually take the cheerleader approach in that I am positive, supportive and can find the good in even tough situations.

What’s the average day in your role, or some of the unique things you are responsible for?

An average day for me includes scheduling student visits both for individuals and groups. I create itineraries, connect with students and families to learn about their college interests and finalize visit details. My goal is to make every visit special, and I am always seeking new, creative ideas to do just that.

Why do you encourage students to attend OC?

I encourage students to attend The University of Olivet because of the great opportunities we provide, not only through academics, but also through the never ending list of ways to get involved in something you’re interested in.

What do you look forward to in your role?

I am always looking forward to meeting the next group of students who visit campus and become Comets!

What advice do you share with students?

I would encourage all students to get involved while they are on campus. Join a club or team, take advantage of a travel learning opportunity, attend events and truly get everything you can out of this once-in-a-lifetime experience of being a college student.

What is an interesting or little-known fact about yourself?

I have a pet pig named Onslow! He lives in my house and, no, he is not a miniature.
Check out The University of Olivet for yourself by scheduling a campus visit and Ally will be sure you have a great day customized to your wants or needs. Contact the Office of Admissions at 800.456.7189 or admissions@uolivet.edu with questions.
