There’s tons of events planned to reconnect with fellow Comets, build new relationships and, of course, have fun – but it doesn’t stop there. Alumni events continue throughout the fall and winter in various cities across Michigan and Illinois. From wine tasting and craft beer sampling, to museum tours, a hockey game and more, there’s sure to be something to please every Comet.
Meet the The University of Olivet Coaches at Coral Gables in East Lansing
Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Join head wrestling coach Brandon Brissette, head men’s basketball coach Steve Ernst, head women’s basketball coach Zach Ingles and Athletic Director Ryan Shockey at Coral Gables for pizza and refreshments. The cost is $10 per person. RSVP by Sept. 29.
Besser Museum Social in Alpena
Thursday, Oct. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. This fall, Kevin ’75 and Paula Curtis welcome alumni to the Besser Museum for a tour, wine, hor d’oeuvres and networking. The museum hosts a full-dome sky theater, rotating art galleries, science education and extensive history exhibits. RSVP by Oct. 5.
Wine Tasting at Crain Hill Vineyard in Traverse City
Thursday, Oct. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. Melanie Engels ’08 and her husband, Edward Lauermann, invite alumni to the Brengman Brothers Crain Hill Vineyard for wine tasting and hor d’oeuvres. The winery is family owned and operated, and serves a variety of wines in their tasting room. RSVP by Oct. 16.
Behind the Scenes Tour of the Field Museum in Chicago
Saturday, Oct. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. The Field Museum is one of the largest natural history museums in the world. OC alumni are invited for an exclusive tour, exploring more than just the average visitor experience. RSVP by Oct. 20.
The University of Olivet Alumni and Friends Social in Grand Blanc
Thursday, Nov. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. Dr. Steve Burton ’68 invites alumni to join him at his home for a special OC themed gathering. RSVP by Oct. 27.
A Night of Hockey in Kalamazoo
Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. Watch the Kalamazoo Wings take on the Adirondack Thunder at Wings Stadium with fellow alumni. The cost is $11 per person. RSVP by Oct. 31.
Get Acquainted Social at The Knickerbocker in Grand Rapids
Thursday, Nov. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. Grab a friend and check out The Knickerbocker – New Holland Brewing for pizza and craft beer tasting. The brewery rotates more than 20 beers on tap – IPAs, stouts, ales, hard ciders and more! RSVP by Nov. 11.
Holiday Walk and Lunch at Meadow Brook Hall Estate in Rochester
Saturday, Dec. 2, lunch at 1:30 p.m., tour at 2:30 p.m. Celebrate the holiday season with family and friends by touring the 110-room Tudor-revival style mansion filled with historic and holiday treasures. The cost is $33 per person (includes lunch and tour). RSVP by Nov. 15.

Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 from 12 to 3 p.m. Join head baseball coach Andy Merchant, head softball coach Darrick Brown, head golf coach Bill Maas, head men’s lacrosse coach Matt Holtz, head women’s lacrosse coach Kaitlin Feeney, and head track and field and cross country coach Karen Lutzke at the Dark Horse Brewing Co. The brewery keeps five staple beers on tap year round with plenty of other options rotating seasonally. The cost is $15 per person. RSVP by Jan. 26.
