The University of Olivet is hosting a special event to honor the life and legacy of Coach Gary Morrison who passed away at the age of 86 on Jan. 3, 2021. Coach Morrison was a member of the Comet family for more than 40 years, coaching men’s golf, basketball and baseball and serving as a physical education professor. The celebration will include light refreshments, chances to connect and reconnect with fellow alumni from all decades, and special recognition of Coach Morrison.
The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 5-7 p.m. after the men’s basketball game in the Cutler Event Center. This is the last regular season game for the men’s varsity team, which has also been designated as Alumni Day, and tip-off is at 3 p.m. against Alma College. Alumni basketball players will be honored during the game, and all are invited to join us afterward for an opportunity to meet and mingle with current and past players.
