Erica Moats has taken on the role of assistant director of graduate business programs, working with students, faculty, instructors and administrators in the College’s Master of Business Administration program. Erica has been a member of the The University of Olivet family since 2007, previously serving as the ITS systems coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business from The University of Olivet and recently completed her MBA from Grand Canyon University. In Erica’s new role, she is excited to help other adult and professional students reach their educational goals.
“My MBA program at Grand Canyon University helped me build a foundation of knowledge and skills that I am eager to use in my new role,” Erica said. “I honed my skills in marketing, management, finance and leadership, and I look forward to working with other adult professionals to help them achieve the same success. In addition to my technical skills, I enjoy connecting with faculty, staff and students. I’m excited to be working with the graduate business programs where the combination of my education, experience and acquired skills will make an immediate contribution to the team.”
Erica will support the graduate business programs by creating community within the faculty, instructors and students in ways that are grounded in professionalism, trust-building and outstanding service. Her ITS background and MBA will assist her in providing technical and systems support, faculty/instructor and student onboarding and systems training, and facilitation of program administration and assessment. Erica will also work directly with students by providing online student orientation and academic advising. She will work collaboratively with the Admissions, Student Services, Alumni Engagement, Advancement and Academic Affairs offices to ensure a positive, integrated and smooth onboarding, learning, business services, graduation and alumni experience for graduate business students.
Erica also serves as a member of the Staff Senate, and she will retain some of her former responsibilities with ITS over the next few months while they work to hire a new team member. She is a lifelong resident of Olivet where she lives with her husband, Jeremy, son, Alex, and stepdaughter, Carly. With her family, Erica enjoys being outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, traveling and going to the movies.
