The University of Olivet has always focused on student success. Beginning August 2026, Olivet’s new academic colleges will organize programs into three mission-driven colleges to enhance learning, collaboration, and purpose.
- College of Social Impact, Media, and the Arts — culture, expression, and social responsibility
- College of Business and Leadership — ethical leadership, enterprise, and mission-driven management
- College of Science, Health, and Human Advancement — health, innovation, sustainability, and scientific discovery

This new structure strengthens the ways students learn, collaborate, and pursue purpose. It creates clearer pathways across related fields, opening opportunities to connect with peers who share similar passions — all while keeping students’ current majors, advisors, courses, and graduation plans unchanged.
“Our students are at the heart of every decision we make at The University of Olivet,” said President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D. “By organizing our programs into values-centered colleges, we’re creating clearer pathways for students to explore their interests, collaborate across disciplines, and reach their full potential. This academic enhancement reflects who we are — a university committed to purpose, service, and lifelong impact.”
What are Olivet’s Academic Colleges?
In higher education, an academic “college” is a way of grouping related majors and programs. Olivet’s mission-centered colleges will connect with peers and faculty in similar fields, explore interdisciplinary opportunities, and benefit from stronger academic communities.

Why the Academic Colleges Matter for Students
The new structure highlights what makes Olivet distinctive: a mission-driven, student-centered approach. By grouping related programs, students benefit from:
- Stronger academic communities: collaborate with peers in complementary fields
- Enhanced faculty engagement: connect with faculty across programs
- Clearer pathways to career and personal growth: explore interests and prepare for meaningful work
“This structure allows us to connect programs in meaningful ways, making it easier for students to discover new perspectives while staying on track to graduate successfully,” said Provost KayDee Perry, Ed.D. “These new mission-aligned colleges give students more opportunities to engage with peers and faculty across related fields, enriching their learning and career preparation.”
Looking Ahead: Opportunities for Students, Families and Alumni
For students, the academic colleges create a more connected and supportive learning environment. For families and alumni, it reflects Olivet’s commitment to preparing students for meaningful, purpose-driven careers while staying true to the mission that has defined the university since its founding.
