The University of Olivet is proud to recognize Nathaniel VanStee ’18 as this year’s Distinguished Young Alumnus, an honor that will be presented during the annual Homecoming Distinguished Alumni Awards & Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner on Sept. 26.

Since graduating with a degree in actuarial science, Nathaniel has built a career dedicated to helping others. He began his professional journey with Auto-Owners Insurance, gaining valuable experience in underwriting and client service. Those early years laid the groundwork for his next step—co-owning his own agency.
Today, Nathaniel operates VanWys Agency, a Farmers Insurance agency in Charlotte, Michigan, with his business partner, James Wyszynski III. Their agency has become a trusted resource for families, neighbors, and small businesses, offering not just insurance solutions, but also peace of mind and personal support.
Nathaniel’s commitment to leadership was first shaped at Olivet, where he was an active member of Alpha Lambda Epsilon and served as both treasurer and president. The lessons he learned in teamwork, service, and building lasting connections remain central to his life and career.
Outside of work, Nathaniel continues to live out Olivet’s values through community service. He is a member of the Charlotte Evening Rotary Club, mentors young professionals, and promotes financial literacy. He and his wife, Bailey VanStee ’20, live in Charlotte with their son, Killian. Together, they enjoy time outdoors, including golfing, hunting, fishing, and camping.
The University of Olivet is honored to celebrate Nathaniel’s professional success, community service, and leadership as this year’s Distinguished Young Alumnus.
