For the Project Management course in spring semester of 2016, three students worked closely with Mooville Creamery’s management to help them with the expansion of their business. The owners include Tina Westendorp who is a recent alum of The University of Olivet.
Mooville Creamery is located in Nashville, Michigan and is family owned and operated. They offer an extensive, farm and creamery tour and bottle their own milk, make ice cream, cheese, and butter.
Mooville came to The University of Olivet with an interest in opening a new location in Ionia. Students met with Mooville management to understand and organize the strategic objective, operational requirements, and options that Mooville was considering.
The team developed a project plan including site assessment and selection. Contact was made with real estate brokers and owners in the area. Traffic volumes were analyzed and a report on options and considerations was prepared and delivered to the owners of Mooville. One of the sites considered has been selected and purchased and construction will begin immediately on a new Mooville location in Ionia!
