The University of Olivet Invites Campus Community to Honor Black History Month

The annual Black History Month celebrations at The University of Olivet kicked off on February 1. Events ranging from keynote speakers to soul food in the Kirk Center will take place throughout the month to enlighten the campus community about Black history and culture.

“Black History Month is a time to honor the contributions and legacy of African Americans across the U.S. history and society, from activist and civil rights pioneers to leaders in industry, music, politics, science, culture, and more. It is a time to reflect on how far we have come and how much further we need to go,” said Joshua Gillespie, associate dean of student life.
