Since 1844, The University of Olivet has provided college access and higher educational opportunities for students regardless of gender, race or financial means. At The University of Olivet, it’s about who we include, not exclude, and cost should not bar a student from experiencing the value of a private college education.
On October 11, 222, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed bipartisan legislation, Senate Bill 842, to establish the Michigan Achievement Scholarship (MAS) which provides eligible students with additional state financial aid to attend college. For private colleges, including The University of Olivet, students can receive an additional $4,000 per year.
To be eligible for the MAS, Michigan students must be first-time, full-time students beginning in fall 2023 and have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $25,000 or less as indicated on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Some students may also qualify for the Michigan Tuition Grant, which is an additional $3,000 toward college.
The University of Olivet ADVANTAGE Scholarship: Three Ways to Benefit
For students who qualify for the MAS and are Pell-eligible, published tuition and general fees will be FREE after all Michigan and Federal grants are applied
Students who qualify for the MAS and come from families whose adjusted gross income is $100,000 or less will pay no more than $5,000 in published tuition and general fees for the 2023-24 academic year to attend The University of Olivet after all Michigan and Federal grants are applied.
For students who qualify for the MAS and come from families who earn more than $100,000 in adjusted gross income, The University of Olivet will pledge at least $20,000 of institutional funds toward published tuition and fees.
For All ADVANTAGE Scholarship Students
- Students must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree and remain full-time in good standing in each regular semester.
- Families are responsible for room and board charges; however, federal loans may be applied toward these costs.
- While The University of Olivet offers four-year awards for first-time, full-time students, this program does not account for possible tuition and fees increases in future academic years, which will be the responsibility of the student.
- It is important to note that students who are not eligible for the MAS program are provided an affordable financial aid package from The University of Olivet, consistent with our mission.
