Move In Day and Beyond

Welcome, Comets!

Welcome New Students!

Whether this is your first time leaving home for college or you are transferring to The University of Olivet, we’re thrilled to have you join our “family.” The University of Olivet is your home away from home, and we want you to feel comfortable and welcome at all times.

Setting up your living space, meeting roommates and other students, starting class and getting into the rhythm of studying can be stressful. But, it can – and will – also be FUN! OC faculty, staff and volunteers are here for you every step of the way, starting now. If you’re ever unsure of where to go or what to do, just ask and someone will help — because that’s what family does.

To assist you in preparing for this new chapter in your life, we’ve prepared some schedules and checklists to help keep track of everything you’ll need to think about in the coming weeks.

Before Arriving

To ensure there will be no surprises when you arrive for move-in, you’ll want to make sure you have completed the following:

Questions?

When You Arrive

On Move-In Day there will be The University of Olivet volunteers available to help you with your move – look for the people with smiling faces wearing red! From helping residents find their dorm rooms, to moving boxes and answering questions, the volunteers will dedicate their day to making you and your family feel welcome and excited about living on campus. So don’t hesitate to ask questions — or hand us a tote full of clothes!

First Things First: Get Your Room Key!

The first thing to do when you arrive is leave all of your belongings in your locked car — don’t start unpacking just yet! First you need to check in at your residence hall, complete a few forms and get your room keys. Once you have your room key, it’s official and it’s time to unpack!
