Earning Flex Credits
Olivet’s RN-BSN Program allows students flexibility in their learning via the inclusion of flexible credits (“flex credits”). These may be earned in the following ways.
Continuing Education (CE) Hours: Students may earn up to 20 flex credits through nursing continuing education (CE) hours. Five CE hours equals one Olivet credit hour.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: You’ll earn two credit hours for basic life support certification from the American Heart Association if the certification was not taken as part of a course that is already counted in credit totals for the degree.
Elective Credits (taken at Olivet): Examples of non-nursing courses that may be of interest to nurses include: medical Spanish, health psychology, gerontology, substance use and abuse, and rehabilitation techniques.
Transfer Credits: Up to 90 credits may be transferred from a two-year or four-year institution.
