University Leadership

The University of Olivet depends on the expertise, wisdom and passion of its leaders – the Board of Trustees, President’s Cabinet and the President – to set the pace and establish the direction of the University as it continues to grow in enrollment, programs and degrees, and through on-campus development.

Ensuring the Future of The University of Olivet

The University of Olivet leaders embody the mission and values outlined by our founding fathers. Especially, that education should be available to anyone, regardless of race, gender, background or socioeconomic circumstances. Still today, the college defines itself by who it includes, not who it excludes. We look to our leaders to ensure that the future of The University of Olivet is as rich as our history.

President Corey

Steven M. Corey, Ph.D., is the 23rd president of The University of Olivet.

Dr. Corey joined The University of Olivet in the fall of 2010. Located in southcentral Michigan, The University of Olivet is a private liberal arts institution guided by its values-based motto, Education for Individual and Social Responsibility. Founded as the first higher education institution in Michigan to admit women and persons of color on a co-equal basis with white men, it has become known for successfully preparing a diverse and inclusive student community for not only success in career and graduate school, but also for equipping students to make a positive difference in their local and global communities.

Under Dr. Corey’s leadership and with the unanimous approval of its Board of Trustees, Olivet College became The University of Olivet on August 1, 2023, reflecting its becoming a more comprehensive institution driven by a bold strategic plan, Olivet 2030: Vision for a Prosperous Future.
