Dear The University of Olivet Students and Parents,
Spring is often thought of as a time of renewal and the season of opportunity. This spring is unlike any we have ever faced, yet beauty and wonder continue to exist in each day. We must remind ourselves that all is not lost.
This Easter weekend, take time to refresh your spirit by rediscovering all of the little joys in life that we often take for granted. Notice the birds building nests. Lay on the grass and look up at the clouds. Count the flowers in bloom. Look for a four-leaf clover. Listen to a flowing stream or the waves hitting a beach. Open a window to hear the kids playing next door. Stand outside and simply inhale and exhale the crisp, fresh air.
The past few months have been challenging, and there will be more hurdles ahead. We are proud of each of you for not giving up and for facing this obstacle head-on. With so much uncertainty at this time, it’s important to remember that nobody – and certainly no virus – can take away your dreams and aspirations or your quest for knowledge. As you move into final exams, we encourage you to stay focused, determined and confident.
In the words of Dr. Seuss, “It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it can become.” Do not let this pandemic define who you are today or who you will become in the future.
Continue to be awesome every day! You’ve got this.
We wish you a joyful Easter holiday.
