Dear Graduates, Students, Families and Faculty and Staff,
On behalf of The University of Olivet, I invite you to share in the Class of 2020 Baccalaureate and Graduation celebrations taking place virtually tomorrow and Saturday. While the campus may be quiet this spring weekend, the celebrations do not have to be! I encourage ALL Olivetians to honor the Class of 2020 by tuning into the virtual Baccalaureate and graduation celebrations, whether you’re a graduating senior, adult professional or graduate student, junior, sophomore, first-year student or member of the faculty or staff.
Virtual Baccalaureate Celebration

In this student-organized virtual approach, a team of senior students has prepared a pre-recorded Baccalaureate celebration around the theme “Defining Comet Pride.”
Virtual Graduation Celebration
Saturday, May 16
1 p.m.
Premiering HERE on the The University of Olivet YouTube Channel
The virtual Graduation Celebration will congratulate and celebrate the degree completions of our May and August 2020 graduates. It is not a replacement for Commencement, but instead, a pre-recorded series of memorable images and messages that will help us mark the date of the Class of 2020 degree awarding.

A special webpage for the Class of 2020 has been developed to provide information on Class of 2020 Commencement celebration. The page will be updated with information about the traditional in-person Commencement ceremony when we are able to schedule a date. Be sure to bookmark the page.
College graduation is one of the most memorable milestones in one’s life – it is an extraordinary achievement every student and their families can be proud of. It is heartbreaking that the COVID-19 pandemic has taken from the Class of 2020 the opportunity to celebrate this rite of passage with classmates, faculty, staff, friends and family at this time. We will celebrate the Class of 2020 properly, with an in-person Commencement ceremony, at a future date when it is safe for all of us to gather together – that is our promise.
As for this weekend, we have 221 reasons to celebrate – I look forward to joining you as we celebrate each and every one of them, the The University of Olivet Class of 2020!
Sincerely,
Maria G. Davis, Ph.D.
