The University of Olivet invites the community to experience “30 Golden Apples: Selected Work from Golden Apple Art Residency,” on view from Feb. 26 through April 2 at the Kresge Foundation Art Gallery. Admission is free, and the gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

An artist reception will be held Saturday, March 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Golden Apple Art Residency founders and Olivet natives Greg and Shelley Stevens. The reception is free and open to the public.

Curated by Shelley Stevens, director of Golden Apple Art Residency, the exhibition showcases a selection of work that reflects the creativity, experimentation, and artistic growth inspired by the residency experience.

Golden Apple Art Residency offers artists and writers dedicated time and space to create along the scenic coast of Downeast Maine, near Harrington. Shelley, a studio artist who earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fine arts from Kendall College of Art and Design, directs the residency. Greg brings business expertise from his years at Dow Chemical and his own consulting firm. Together, they created a creative retreat that has hosted more than 200 artists and writers, providing inspiration, studio space, and a supportive community.

Located inside the Riethmiller Blackman Art Building, the Kresge Foundation Art Gallery features rotating exhibitions that offer students, faculty, and the wider community opportunities to experience the transformative power of the visual arts.
